How to make grilled fish and steamed vegetables taste good

Is there one dish you could never get bored of? Well, according to David Beckham - Victoria has rarely eaten anything other than grilled fish and steamed vegetables for the past 25 years.

It follows reports that the Spice Girls star won't cook using oil, butter or sauces, and doesn't touch red meat or dairy.

And if you want to give her favourite dish a go, Phil Vickery's joining us with his twist on the healthy meal. 

Phil's steamed fish and oriental veg

Serves 2

Ingredients

200g boneless fillet of fish of your choice, skin on 

1 red pepper, sliced 

1 Pak Choi, cut into quarters 

2 spring onions, sliced 

1 small courgette, sliced 

1 medium carrot, cut into fine sticks 

20g Small piece of ginger, peeled and sliced 

½ tsp red chilli, diced  

1 tbsp soy sauce 

Splash of water 

Pepper 


Method

1. Place all the prepared vegetables into a non-stick frying pan. 

2. Add the soy sauce and water to the pan, over the vegetables and top with the fish fillet. 

3. Sprinkle some pepper over and loosely cover with foil. 

4. Place the pan onto a medium heat and bring to the boil and then simmer for 5 minutes until the fish is half cooked.

5. Remove from the heat and leave to rest covered for a further 5 minutes and serve.
