Hoarding officially recognised as a medical disorder
This month, the World Health Organisation has classified hoarding as a mental health condition, giving more support to those who struggle to cope with the form of OCD.
It affects up to three million people, like 42-year-old Faye Dawson, whose suffering started when she was seven years old. It’s affected her friendships, her inability to work and find love. Her bedroom is cluttered with rubbish forcing her to sleep on the sofa and her kitchen is crawling with maggots.
She joins us in the studio to explains why her life is ‘a living hell’ whilst psychologist and compulsive hoarding expert Clare Dahill is in the studio to explain more about the condition.
