Grow your own herb garden and save some money!
When you know how to do it correctly, growing your own herbs is the gift that keeps on giving. From flavoursome mint to the sweet aroma of basil, creating your very own herb garden, whether in a border, pot or grow bag, couldn't be easier. We join David Domoney live from his garden as he explains why growing your own is cheaper, and lasts longer.
The difference between supermarket herbs and garden centre herbs:
Supermarket herbs are grown in a different way to garden centre herbs. They have been produced to last for a short period of time so they'll die after 1-2 weeks.
You can visually see the difference between the herbs by removing them from their pots.

How to plant your herbs:
Plant in a border: Dig a hole, plant a herb using a trowel. David will have two other herbs to show as examples of what you can plant in a border.
Container such as a window box or a pot: Using a peat-free compost plant using the above method.
Grow bag: Cut out the sections at the top of the bag, make drainage holes, plant up the herbs.
