Graeme Souness on swimming the channel to raise awareness of butterfly skin
He’s the former Scottish football legend and TV pundit who swapped his football boots for a wetsuit. After joining us in the studio just a few weeks ago to tell us about his charity mission, on Sunday Graeme Souness completed his swim across the English Channel as part of a six-person relay team in 12 hours and 17 minutes.
The ex-Liverpool player was inspired to take on the challenge, after meeting 14-year-old Isla Grist who suffers from the rare skin disease known as ‘Butterfly Skin’ - and he has now raised over £1 million for Debra UK, which supports people with the disease. He joins us in the studio today to tell us about his incredible swim, alongside heroic Isla and her dad Andy who was also part of the swimming team.
