Glynis' alternative methods to keep trim

Glynis Barber is not just wowing people on stage in the Carol King Musical Beautiful - as she nears 60, people are amazed at how she has kept her youthful good looks! But, rather than go under the knife, as is so common for women in the entertainment industry, Glynis attributes her remarkable appearance to a new diet.

The In-sync food plan suggests a number of diet changes that will have a life changing effect on health. Co-written with nutritionist Fleur Borelli, the book suggests a number of alternative methods to keep people looking trim. The pair join us to tell us more.

Morning Oven Tomatoes

Ingredients:

1 packet of cherry tomatoes3 tablespoons olive oilSprinkle of garlic powder1 teaspoon basil-chopped1 teaspoon fresh parsley-choppedSaltPepperToasted almonds

Method:

  • Preheat oven 350*

  • Place the tomatoes in a baking dish. pour olive oil over the tp. Add the garlicpowder, parsley and basil and season well with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly with hands coating tomatoes well with all ingredients.

  • Sprinkle with almonds over the top. Drizzle top lightly with olive oil.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes. Serve hot.

*This dish goes well with eggs*

Healthy Cauliflower Rice Recipe (this is a great alternative to rice)

Ingredients:

1 cauliflower cut into florets2 teaspoons of extra-virgin olive oil½ cup diced white onion1 clove garlic crushed½ cup of water

Method:

  • Grate the cauliflower florets into grain-like pieces. This can be done either witha food processor with a grating attachment or a cheese grater.

  • Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan. Add the garlic and onion and sauté for fiveminutes.

  • Add the water and cover for five minutes. The cauliflower should be cooked andthe water absorbed.
