Daisy's garden tips:
Pots & window boxes:
Bedding plants are your go-to if you'd like to bring the red, white and blue theme to life in your garden to celebrate the new monarch!
Plants that work well for a patriotic theme:
For the reds: Petunias, Geraniums and Verbena work well.
For white flowers try Petunias, Geraniums, Bacopa, Pansies or Lobelia.
Petunias and Pansies are a good option for blue flowers.
Borders:
To add some blue to your borders, consider: Forget-me-nots, Delphiniums (which are believed to be the King's favourite flower) and Salvia.
For red: Tulips, Roses, Geraniums and Fuchsias work brilliantly.
For white: Try Foxgloves and Cosmos.
Hanging baskets:
Fuchsias, Impatiens and Pansies are great for trailing hanging baskets and are a favourite of the King and Queen Consort.
All the bedding plant selection works well in hanging baskets - be sure to add water retention crystals into your hanging baskets so the flowers thrive all season long.
Cut flower displays:
To make the perfect centrepiece for your tea party try using White Anemone, Red Camellia, Ferns, Eucalyptus, Delphiniums, Roses and Alliums.
Add some gold to your patriotic plants:
Gold has long been associated with royalty and is synonymous with the crown, throne and state coach.
Helichrysum is a showy plant with golden foliage and blooms which will spill gracefully over your container and hanging basket whilst Lysimachia is an excellent golden ground cover in flower borders.
