Donal Skehan’s Drive Thru America
In the first of a new series, Donal’s Drive Thru America, we are starting with something very special: Donal does Dallas!
He begins his road trip by visiting the world famous ranch that was featured on the show, Dallas, before heading to the Dallas Cowboys stadium and learning more about American Football. He then ends by visiting one of the famous State Fair of Texas and sampling some of the weird and wacky food available from the food vendors.
Donal is saying “Howdy partners” as he becomes a cowboy for the day. On the second episode of Donal’s Drive Thru America, Donal heads to the real wild west, Fort Worth, and meets real-life cowboys and even learns to lasso. He then tries some unusual cowboy grub called calf fries (which are bull’s testicles!) and then finishes the day at a Honky Tonk where he learns to line dance.
Donal, we have a problem! Donal’s next Texas mission is to the Space Centre where he learns about life as an astronaut before heading to Salt Lick - a world-famous BBQ joint, before ending at the cool, retro, Austin Motel.
He’s off on his final adventure in the Cowboy State! Donal learns about Texas’ link with Mexico and digs into Tex-Mex cuisine in San Antonio before then heading to a world Tamale eating competition in Lewisville to see some champion eaters taking on an epic (and slightly disgusting) food challenge.
