Dermot O'Leary remembers 'lovely' Liam Payne, following his death aged 31
This Morning family member and former X Factor Host, Dermot O'Leary, shares his tribute to the passing of One Direction band member Liam Payne.
"He was both wise and sort of a young soul at the same time. He had this sort of old bones about him and yet he was always quite beautifully wide eyed out the world."
Dermot said Liam was 'central' to One Direction, and 'always had this unbelievable, soulful voice'.
“They became brothers very, very quickly,” Dermot also said. “These boys were kind of each other’s family, and they were so unbelievably tight.”
He also said he received messages during last night from fellow former X Factor staff, who felt they had “protectiveness” over the band’s members.
He said: “In many ways, we sort of grew up with them, and (so we are) holding close to our people and saying all our love to friends and family.”
