Clodagh's healthy juices to kickstart your new year!
If you overindulged during the festive period, the New Year is the perfect time to press the reset button.
And from boosting your mood, to beating the post-Christmas bloat - Clodagh will be in the kitchen with three easy juices that promise to leave you feeling good!
New year juices
Serves 2
Ingredients
Lose the bloat
100g pineapple chunks
¼ cucumber, sliced
2 sticks of celery, sliced
¼ inch of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp fresh flat leaf parsley leaves
1 tbsp fresh mint leaves
Juice of ½ lemon
3 or 4 Ice cubes
Beat the blues
170ml coconut water
2 small bananas, frozen if possible
150g blueberries fresh or frozen
3 large strawberries
2 teaspoons chia seeds
Sunrise
1 beetroot, peeled and quartered
1 apple, quartered and cored
5cm piece of fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
3 carrots, peeled
3-4 cubes of ice
Method
1. Place all the ingredients in a juicer and blend until you reach a smooth consistency. If the consistency is too thick, add some water or ice cubes and re-blend.
2. For the sunrise juice it does work better blended in a juicer, but you can blend in a blender and pour the thick juice through a sieve suspended over a bowl. Use the back of the spoon to help the juice pass through the sieve.
