Anne Nolan opens up on losing beloved sister Bernie
She was an amazing singer, and an amazing person as well
Anne Nolan joins Ruth and Eamonn to talk about how losing her much-loved sister Bernie finally led to her reconciling her differences with her other sisters.
Throughout the 70s and 80s, The Nolans were the girlband whose wholesome hits and image of sisterly togetherness sealed their popularity on an international scale. The ensuing decades however began to reveal cracks in the family picture and the final straw came in 2009 when a reunion of the band snubbed two of its original members, Anne and Denise.
This spawned a family feud which created a four-year gulf of silence between Anne and nearly all of her sisters - a silence that was only broken by the pleas of their dying sibling Bernie Nolan, who lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this year.
Bernie got her wish and saw her warring sisters embrace and reconcile their differences before she died. Now Anne opens up to us about her tragic yet heartwarming story.
