Alice Beer
Alice says: I've worked in the media for 25 years as a researcher, producer and director, but I'm more well known for my years fronting flagship health and consumer programmes such as Watchdog, Holiday, Healthcheck. I've written a book, A Contented House with Twins, whilst bringing up my two daughters, I write for newspapers and magazines, and I work behind the scenes with many big high street names to ensure that their customers get a fair deal.
I’m best known for: Getting people out of sticky situations and standing up for the little guy
The proudest moment of my career is: I feel proud and pleased every time I sort out someone's problem or get a powerful organisation to right a wrong
The first thing I do in the morning is: Wish I didn’t have insomnia
My favourite breakfast is: Two poached eggs, smoked salmon, spinach and tomatoes and rye
The most famous person in my phonebook is: The Duke of Edinburgh
The actress who would play me in a film about This Morning is: Obviously younger, thinner and more beautiful than me
My favourite memory from working on This Morning is: Oh, it changes every week. When I arrive I walk into the Green Room to get a cup of tea and never fail to be delighted at the buffet of life sitting there. Lionel Blair chatting to a women who paints pictures with placentas was a particular favourite.
If I wasn’t featuring on This Morning, I’d be: Doing my other day jobs: writing, broadcasting and being a mother to my twin daughters. But if I had to go and get a different job tomorrow, I would be happily delivering the post down country lanes early in the morning (hmm Postman Pat?).
You’d be surprised to learn that: I lied about the phone book answer
The one thing I couldn’t live without is: A good book (oh and my children!)
