Sugar on Corbyn, Hopkins and a duet with Hucknall

From what I’ve gleaned so far, he wants to go back about forty years in time, when perhaps, there was a need for the protection of the oppressed population

Lord Sugar on Jeremy Corbyn

As the star of the award-winning series The Apprentice, Alan Sugar has won millions of fans with his mix of business wisdom and witty putdowns.

During an interview about his new book Unscripted - My Ten Years in Telly, Lord Alan Sugar told Holly and Phillip how he got The Apprentice role and the rumours that he was the BBC’s third choice. He said, “Apparently, although they won’t ever admit it because they realise what a genius I was in the end!”

Replying to Phillip's question about whether new Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, he said, "my personal opinion is that I cannot visualise someone like him talking to Angela Merkel or Barack Obama or François Hollande - I just can’t... Would the public like him talking to those people representing us as the Prime Minister of this country? I don’t think so. I don’t know what his policies are, but from what I’ve gleaned so far, he wants to go back about forty years in time, when perhaps, there was a need for the protection of the oppressed population.”

Sugar also admitted that he did once feel sorry for Katie Hopkins when he saw her standing on her own at The Apprentice wrap party, although he continued, " I think we can understand why perhaps they decided not to talk to her now."
