Team Will's amazing Acts!

We can’t quite believe it, but the Blind Auditions are DONE! will.i.am has used that red button verrrrry wisely to secure some serious talent to take through to The Battles. The Voice UK aficionado is a pro through and through, and he certainly knows talent when he hears it. Let’s remind ourselves of the Acts that make up will.i.am’s top 10…

Will got off to a strong start when he beat Tom in a pitch-off to secure soulful trio So Diva, after their performance of ‘Don’t Walk Away’ by Jade had him on his feet.

Baby Sol became Will’s second Act, after her unique voice and fab personality shone through her version of Ella Fitzgerald’s ‘Lullaby Of Birdland’.

Doug Sure’s blissfully cool vocals took us far, far away as he performed ‘Feels Like Summer’ by Childish Gambino, leaving the electrician with the pick of Will, Olly and Meghan - but there was only one Coach for Doug. And there wasn’t a dry eye in the studio when Will turned and had a heart-to-heart with Gevanni Hutton after his emotional performance of ‘Everybody’s Free’ by Quindon Tarver.

There was no shortage of impressive vocals on The Voice UK stage, but young Johannes Pietsch blew the Coaches away with his unbelievable range, and his version of Julie Andrews’ ‘The Hills Are Alive’ gave the Black Eyed Peas frontman the opera talent he’d been searching for.

Lucy Calcines brought the latino flavour and she got the party started - and the chairs turning - with her energetic performance of ‘Mi Gente’ by J Balvin, Willy Williams and Beyoncé. Despite having the pick of our superstar Coaches, Will’s Team was the only place the young singer wanted to be.

Next up, it was the power in Zindzi Thomas’ voice that prompted Will to push his button as she gave the performance of her life with Queen Naija’s ‘War Cry’. Will’s a Coach who looks for emotional connection, and make-up artist Alia Lara did exactly that as she covered ‘How Do You Sleep?’ by Sam Smith.

Will still had two Acts to find as he entered the final round of Blind Auditions, and it was Irish charm all the way for his remaining turns! First, 16-year-old Shauna Byrne was pitch perfection for Will with her classy take on Shawn Mendes’ ‘If I Can’t Have You’. Taking the final spot was folk trio Evergreen and their perfect three-part harmonies, performing Joni Mitchell’s ‘Big Yellow Taxi’ to complete Team Will!

Impressive line-up right? But the Acts are set to go head-to-head, as it's time for The Battles to take over. Join us as The Voice UK continues, Saturday 8.30pm on ITV and STV.
