Jonny Brooks’s Journey to the Final

Our gentle Northern Irish giant has a distinct voice that is utterly mesmerising, and Jonny Brooks has seemingly sailed his way to the Semi-Final for Team Tom! Let’s take a look at his journey to the final eight.

Blind Audition

Jonny took to the stage alongside his guitar at the Blind Auditions, and transported us to another place with his dreamy rendition of Van Morrison’s ‘Sweet Thing’.

Olly and Tom hit their buttons, but it was our Welsh icon’s Team that the 29-year-old picked to join.

The Battles

At the Battles Jonny gave up his beloved guitar, but was paired with Lara Anstead to perform an anthemic version of James Bay’s ‘Us’.

Despite admitting being out of his comfort zone, Jonny's performance was pitch perfection as far as Sir Tom was concerned, and the Cathedral janitor won himself a ticket to the Knockouts.

The Knockouts

The Knockouts called for a standout performance, and Guest Mentor Shania Twain was blown away in rehearsals when she first heard Jonny adding his effortless, raw tone to The Beatles’ classic ‘Don’t Let Me Down’.

The studio performance was just as stunning. Sir Tom gave us his distinctive ‘Yeah!’ once more, and gave Jonny a place in the Semi-Final!

The Semi-Final

Jonny stepped out of his comfort zone for the Semi-Final, risking it all with his own rendition of Lady Gaga’s ‘Million Reasons’.

Thankfully the risk paid off and then some, as not only were the Coaches won over by Jonny’s leather trousers but they were also in love with his vocals! Yep, Jonny earned himself a place in the Final.
