Team Will and Team Olly's Superstar Mentors Announced for the Knockouts!
We've got news for you! We're so excited to announce that will.i.am and Olly Murs have an incredible line-up of Mentors joining their sides for the Knockouts, with the Black Eyed Peas and Craig David lending their wisdom and industry expertise to the Singers at this crucial stage of the competition.
During his 18-year career, Southampton-born Craig has sold more than 13 million records and notched up two No.1 singles and 14 top 10 hits. His latest album The Time is Now was released last month. Olly and Craig have been friends since first meeting on a charity desert trek for Comic Relief in Kenya in 2011!
“Craig is amazing, we have known each other a long time. I have been a fan of him as an artist from an early age and it is great I can now call him a friend. He’s also got so much experience in the industry and with that he will really give me some great constructive feedback on my acts and help me make the right decision.”
“It’s nice to be part of this process and to give some positive critiques to each act. Because I know Olly so well I can be very honest with him so hopefully my opinions will help him make his decision, but ultimately this is his gig!”
And if that wasn't enough excitement for one new article, will.i.am has brought best friends and musical-family along in the form of the Black Eyed Peas to help guide his acts before their big Knockouts performances.
“There are no better folks for me to have mentor my team because we have mentored each other. We mentored each other when nobody really believed in us and we went on to do impossible things."
"Considering the fact will has been doing this for many years now it’s great to be part of this with him. We have been talking about making this happen. For me it’s exciting because we are here to support our brother and see exactly what sort of team he has got."
"It is a very exciting moment, a big moment for will as he will have to make some really big decisions to eliminate people and keep people. We want to be here to support him with that and give him some ideas and pointers."
Each coach has six acts going into the Knockouts but only two per team will make it through to the Semi-Final... Who are you crossing your fingers for? Let us know on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
PS. Mentors for fellow coaches Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson will be revealed soon - don't you worry!!
