In Pictures: The First 2021 Semi-Finals!
Our Acts hit new levels in the first round of the Semi-Finals! With the help of our superstar Guest Mentors, the singers showed some incredible progression - leaving the Coaches and the virtual audience blown away by a truckload of talent.
In the first of two Semi-Finals, three of the six remaining Acts on each Team performed, leaving their Coach with the tough choice of picking just one to keep in the competition. Here's how it all happened...
Oh hey Emma Willis!
Lauren Drew was first up after Will used his Steal to take her for his Team. She performed a flawless version of Stevie Wonder and Tori Kelly’s ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing’.
Adeniké delivered an angelic yet powerful version of Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing'.
Sir Tom in this exceptional purple jacket - we love to see it!
Nadia Eide was last to perform for Team Will, and blew the roof off the stage with her performance of Queen's 'The Show Must Go On'...
...the operatic talent earned a standing ovation from the Coaches!
There was no easy decision for Will, but the Coach picked a thrilled Nadia to keep in the competition.
Next up was Team Tom, and Mariam Davina delivered a stunning version of Emeli Sandé's 'Breathing Underwater'.
Benjamin Warner brought the party with a sublime version of Lionel Richie's classic 'All Night Long'.
Then we were transported to another place with Midé's gorgeous performance of Harry Styles's 'Sweet Creature'.
After a phenomenal effort from Tom's Acts, the Welsh legend chose the talented Benjamin Warner to keep in the competition.
Next it was all about Anne-Marie, who was hyped for her first Semi-Finals!
Leona Jørgensen's take on 'Holy' by Justin Bieber and Chance The Rapper was a lesson in making a performance look effortless!
Making her first appearance for Team Anne-Marie after a sneaky Steal from Will, Stephanee stepped up with a beautiful version of The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’.
Sweeney's slick moves along with his vocal talents made for one hypnotising version of Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me A River'.
Leona was lost for words when Anne-Marie picked her as the winner of the round!
Olly's Team were last to take to the stage, and Joe Topping's smooth version of Jason Mraz's 'I Won't Give Up' was every bit as dreamy as we'd imagined!
Jason Hayles gave his first performance for Team Olly after a Steal from Anne-Marie, and he did not disappoint with an original twist on 'Bloodstream' by Ed Sheeran.
Verdict from Olly: thumbs up!
Our final Act of the evening brought all the gospel power! Jordan and Wesley's performance of 'The Climb' by Miley Cyrus was something special.
The pair couldn't hide their shock when Olly chose them as his winner!
