In Pictures: The 2021 First Blind Auditions!
The Voice UK is back - as we've never seen it before! We've got our Coaches, those shiny red chairs, and this year we've got a virtual audience cheering on our talented Acts! We also welcomed our wonderful brand new Coach Anne-Marie, who soon got stuck in with hitting her button! Here's how the first episode of the series went down.
We started the party as we meant to go on with a fab performance from our Coaches!
Heyyyy Olly!
Anne-Marie made her debut - looking fierce too!
Oh Tom, how we've missed you.
First to take the stage was 19-year-old Mariam Davina. Her beautiful version of 'Anyone' by Demi Lovato earned her a place in Team Tom!
It didn't take Anne-Marie long before she felt right at home in that chair!
Nathan Smoker gave a confident performance of Tom Odell's 'Can't Pretend', and his cheeky personality reminded everyone of a certain Mr Murs, who Nathan picked as his Coach after a serious pitch.
Our first four chair turn of the series went to Lauren Drew after her jaw-dropping performance of 'Mama Knows Best' by Jessie J. With the pick of the Coaches, the 27-year-old from Port Talbot became Anne-Marie's first ever Act!
A powerful audition gave 18-year-old student Okulaja a place on Team Will. His original twist on Billie Eilish's 'Everything I Wanted' had a powerful message behind the vocals.
We know 2021 is going to be just fine with Emma Willis looking after proceedings!
The second four chair turn of the night went to languages teacher Jérémy Levif. His French twist on Ellie Goulding's 'How Long Will I Love You' gave him the pick of the Coaches - until will.i.am sneakily used his Block Button on Olly! The move paid off and Jeremy joined Team Will.
Our virtual audience was right there with the Coaches, all from the comfort of their sofas!
The final Blind Audition of the night was a heart-stopping one! Hannah Williams blew the Coaches away with her powerful performance of Shirley Brown's 'Stay With Me Baby', and it was a very happy Tom she picked to take her to the Battles.
