Doug Sure's Journey to the Semi-Final

He thought his The Voice UK journey was over, but you gave Doug Sure a Semi-Final place thanks to the Lifeline vote!

This humble electrician has wowed the nation with his raw, transportive vocals and effortless cool. Let’s take a look at the performances that won him the Lifeline...

Blind Audition

The South London king of cool transported all us to another place when he performed a mesmerising version of Childish Gambino’s ‘Feels Like Summer’.

We were all instantly hooked and after earning three turns from Olly, Meghan and Will, Doug chose Team Will to take him to the next round.

The Battles

The Battles pushed Doug out of his comfort zone as he was pitted against Zindzi Thomas, with the pair delivering an impressive take on U2 and Mary J Blige’s ‘One’.

Doug’s incredible tone ticked all the boxes for Will, and was enough for his Coach to grant him a place in the Knockouts.

The Knockouts

A powerful song choice and that unmistakable voice saw the 31-year-old hypnotise the entire audience as he performed Jorja Smith’s ‘Don’t Watch Me Cry’.

He moved Olly to tears in the process and stole the nation’s hearts. After Lucy Calcines was given the last Semi-Final spot for Team Will, YOU decided that Doug was the singer most worthy of the Lifeline from 16 hopeful Acts.

Thanks to your votes he will take his place on the stage as a 2020 Semi-Finalist!
