George Ford confident ahead of 'massive' Calcutta Cup clash
George Ford insists England are ready to usher in a "new beginning" when they launch their 2016 RBS 6 Nations against Scotland at Murrayfield.
The Red Rose crashed out of last autumn's home World Cup with losses to Wales and Australia, failing to reach the knockout phase for the first time, and reacted by appointing a new coaching team led by Eddie Jones at a cost of over £1million.
Jones takes charge of his first match in the Calcutta Cup and Ford, who starts at fly-half, has high expectations.
"It's a new beginning for us. We're massively excited about the game. I think any first game in the tournament is huge," Ford said.
"You want to get off to a good start, especially as it's away from home. Scotland are going to be massively up for it, as are we, so if you throw all that into the mix, it's a massive game for us.
"We prepared really well, we're confident, we're focused on ourselves quite a lot and we want to go out there and put on a really good performance."
