Threeunderthrufive in Grand National picture after Swinley success
Threeunderthrufive finally tasted success after two encouraging runs this season winning the Injured Jockeys Fund Ambassadors Programme Swinley Handicap Chase at Ascot.
Dubbed 'Mr Consistent' by trainer Paul Nicholls, he disputed the lead with Shan Blue and came home a length ahead of Rapper who put in a challenge in the closing stages.
The winner had his Randox Grand National odds slashed after the success.
“He’s got an entry for the National and he jumped really well today,” said Nicholls.
“He wouldn’t want the ground too soft, that (ground) today was just perfect for him and he will also have an entry in the Scottish National and the bet365 Gold Cup (at Sandown).
“He’s not going to go to Cheltenham in three weeks’ time, I wouldn’t have thought, and Max (McNeill, owner) is quite keen on him running in the National.”
McNeill confirmed later that Threeunderthrufive would head 'straight to Aintree'
