BritBox February 2022 Highlights
London, 17 January 2022: BritBox today announced box-sets and films launching on the service throughout February 2022.
New additions include feature films Wild Rose and Human Traffic, all three series of Jo Brand’s medical sitcom Getting On, a selection of great British dramas such as Steve McQueen’s Small Axe starring John Boyega, and series 10 of the ever-popular Death in Paradise.
Additionally, joining the growing collection of original content is Magpie Murders, adapted from the Sunday Times bestseller and starring Lesley Manville and Daniel Mays, which is set to launch on the service on 10th February.
Subscribers can also enjoy the fascinating two-part docu-drama Kim Philby: His Most Intimate Betrayal later in the month, ahead of the anticipated original A Spy Among Friends, launching later this year.

Wild Rose (2018)
Amidst several difficulties, a single mother of two and a former convict from Scotland, Rose-Lynn, tries to pursue her dream of becoming a country singer. Musical drama film starring Jessie Buckley, Julie Walters and Sophie Okonedo.
The Day Shall Come (2019)
An impoverished preacher who brings hope to the Miami projects is offered cash to save his family from eviction. He has no idea his sponsor works for the FBI who plan to turn him into a criminal by fueling his madcap revolutionary dreams. Comedy film starring Anna Kendrick, Marchánt Davis and Jim Gaffigan.
Human Traffic (1999)
For Jip, Lulu, Koop, Nina and Moff, the dead-end jobs they endure during the week just kill the time until Friday night. That's when they cut very loose and get on the crazy roller coaster ride that takes them right through to Monday morning. Comedy film starring Danny Dyer, John Simm and Justin Kerrigan.

Getting On S1-3 (2009-2012)
Medical sitcom following the day-to-day lives of the staff on an NHS hospital ward. Beset by killer viruses, egomaniacal consultants and endless paperwork, the overworked and underpaid staff of ward B4 struggle on regardless. Starring Joanna Scanlan, Jo Brand and Vicki Pepperdine.
Small Axe S1 (2020)
Love letters to black resilience and triumph in London's West Indian community, directed by Oscar winner Steve McQueen. Vivid stories of hard-won victories in the face of racism. Drama miniseries starring John Boyega, Letitia Wright and Michael Ward.
10th February
Only When I Laugh S1-2 (1979-1980)
A rather naive, middle-class man is admitted to a hospital ward and finds that he is sharing it with a working-class layabout and an upper-class hypochondriac. All three of them cause headaches for the hospital staff. Comedy series starring James Bolam, Peter Bowles and Christopher Strauli.
Magpie Murders (2022) - BritBox original
Adapted from the Sunday Times bestseller written by Anthony Horowitz CBE (Foyle’s War, Midsomer Murders). Magpie Murders is a crime drama with a unique twist. This intriguing series is a murder mystery within a murder mystery, spanning two time periods (1950s and contemporary Britain) with cast portraying multiple characters in different literary dimensions.
Susan Ryeland (Lesley Manville) is the editor for infamous, best-selling mystery writer Alan Conway (Conleth Hill). When she receives an unfinished Conway manuscript, featuring his hugely popular detective Atticus Pünd (Tim McMullan), she is set on a path with little idea that it will change her life forever.
The Royal S1-2 (2003)
Medical drama set in the swinging sixties. Rich in humour and tragedy, the show follows the staff and patients of a Yorkshire cottage hospital. Features guest appearances by characters from drama series 'Heartbeat' which is set in the same period. Starring Robert Daws, Amy Robbins and Linda Armstrong.

Kim Philby: His Most Intimate Betrayal S1 (2014)
Ben Macintyre explores the truth behind the most famous double agent in modern history - Harold Kim Philby. He argues that Philby has become a caricature of the gentleman spy. 2-Part docu-drama starring David Oakes and William Beck.
Lead Balloon S1-4 (2006-2011)
Rick Spleen, a successful but disillusioned stand-up comedian, spends his days hosting corporate events, arguing with his co-writer Marty and hiding his incompetence from Mel. Sitcom starring Jack Dee, Anna Crilly and Sean Power.
New Blood S1 (2016)
Crime drama following Stefan Kowolski and Arash Sayyad, two junior investigators working for Serious Fraud Office, who go against powerful corporations and people who only appear to be legitimate. Starring Mark Strepan, Ben Tavassoli, Mark Addy and Anna Chancellor.
The Professionals S1-2 (1977-1978)
Inside the secure corridors of Criminal Intelligence 5, a high-level British anti-crime unit, George Cowley hands out tough assignments to his two top agents: thuggish William Andrew Philip Bodie, who favors a `hit first, ask questions later' style, and the more cerebral Raymond Doyle, a former Docklands police constable. Drama series starring Lewis Collins, Martin Shaw and Gordon Jackson.
24th February
Blue Murder S1-5 (2003-2009)
Single mother DCI Janine Lewis struggles with the problems of bringing up four children while leading her team of detectives in solving high-profile murders. Drama series starring Ian Kelsey, Caroline Quentin and Paul Loughran.
Death in Paradise S10 (2021)
The tenth instalment of the popular crime drama series. The idyllic Caribbean locale of Saint-Marie is a paradise island on which most anyone would love to live and work, except for a quintessential English detective who feels like a fish out of water. Starring Ralf Little, Don Warrington, Tobi Bakare and Elizabeth Bourgine. Series 1-9 are already available on BritBox.
Monarch of the Glen S5 (2003)
Archie MacDonald, a young restaurateur is called back to his childhood home of Glenbogle where he is told he is the new Laird of Glenbogle. Drama series starring Dawn Steele, Susan Hampshire and Alastair Mackenzie. Series 1-4 are already available on BritBox.
New Tricks S6-8 (2009-2011)
To put her flagging police career back on track, superintendent Sandra Pullman hires three veteran police officers to lend a helping hand to her unsolved cases. Drama series starring Amanda Redman, Dennis Waterman and Alun Armstrong. Series 1-5 are already available on BritBox.
Whoops Apocalypse S1 (1982)
A light-hearted look at the final week before doomsday. American President Johnny Cyclops is trying to run a re-election campaign while dealing with the Russians, a deposed Shah needing to be hidden, and a new weapon called a 'quark' bomb. Sitcom starring Alexei Sayle, Rik Mayall, Barry Morse and John Barron.
HIV & Me: Stephen Fry S1 (2007)
2-Part television special which sees British writer and actor Stephen Fry report on the shocking increase of newly HIV-infected people in Britain and in sub-Saharan Africa.
