BritBox November 2021 Highlights

London, October 13th: BritBox today announced content launching on the service throughout November 2021. 

Alongside BritBox’s popular Britmas collection, details of which will be announced shortly, subscribers are welcomed to enjoy a variety of exciting new content throughout November including a Remembrance Day collection, spearheaded by Peter Jackson’s acclaimed documentary They Shall Not Grow Old. 

Additional feature films such as Daniel Craig’s Some Voices, and series including both seasons of historical drama Rome will also be launched. In addition, Yorkshire-set crime drama Red Riding: The Year of our Lord starring Andrew Garfield will be available exclusively on the service from the beginning of the month. 

1st November

Life S1 (2020)

They Shall Not Grow Old (2018)

Acclaimed documentary by Peter Jackson with never-before-seen footage to commemorate the centennial of the end of the First World War. 

18th November

Rome S1-2 (2005-2007)

A down-to-earth account of the lives of both illustrious and ordinary Romans set in the last days of the Roman Republic. Starring Kevin McKidd and Ray Stevenson.

Personal Services (1987) 

The story of the rise of a madame of a suburban brothel catering to older men, inspired by the real experiences of Cynthia Payne. Starring Julie Walters. 

The Count Of Monte Cristo (1975)

A young officer, falsely imprisoned by his jealous "friends," escapes and uses a hidden treasure to exact his revenge. Starring Richard Chamberlain, Trevor Howard and Louis Jourdan.

The Plank (1967)

The slapstick perilous misadventures of two clumsy construction builders whom require a wooden floorboard. Starring Tommy Cooper and Eric Sykes.

Victim (1961)

Lawyer Melville Farr takes up the case of a worker who is blackmailed for being homosexual at the cost of derailing his promising career. Starring Dirk Bogarde and Sylvia Syms.

Too Many Crooks (1959)

In this spoof on crime films, four would-be criminals manage to botch every job they plan. When they try to rob wealthy Billy Gordon they fail again. But the gang decides to kidnap his daughter. Starring Terry-Thomas, George Cole and Brenda da Banzie. 

Brief Encounter (1945)

Returning home from a shopping trip to a nearby town, bored suburban housewife Laura Jesson is thrown by happenstance into an acquaintance with virtuous doctor Alec Harvey. Their casual friendship soon develops, during their weekly visits, into something more emotional. Starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard.

25th November 

Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em S1-3 (1973-1978)

Accident-prone Frank Spencer fails to navigate the simplest tasks of daily life, while also trying to look after his wife and baby.

New Tricks S3-5 (2006-2008)

Three retired police officers are drafted in to solve cold cases, with a touch of comedy and drama. Starring Dennis Waterman, Amanda Redman and Alun Armstrong.

The Game (2014)

Daddy, the head of MI5, assembles a secret team to investigate an alleged Soviet plot that could change the course of the Cold War. Miniseries starring Tom Hughes and Brian Cox.
