The Voice UK 2020 competition resumes
The Voice UK 2020 competition is returning to ITV this October. Paused earlier this year when Covid-19 halted production, Producers are now pleased to announce that they will be bringing the contest to its conclusion and crowning an ultimate winner. Ahead of the Semi-Final and Final, a special catch up show will be screened later this month, reminding the audience at home of the story so far.
The Semi-Final and Final will then follow. Additionally, as of tomorrow, 3 October, the entire series to date will be made available on the ITV Hub.
The Semi-Final and Final will both be pre-recorded in the coming weeks and take place with virtual audiences beamed onto screens in the studio as they view all the action from their homes. Meghan Trainor will appear on the show from LA, superimposed onto her chair to join fellow Coaches Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and will.i.am.
Meghan said: “I’m so sorry that I can’t travel and be there in person for the end of Season 9. I’m excited that the show is finally back and I will be there virtually to support my incredible team!”
Remaining in the competition are:
Team Tom: Jonny Brooks and Lois Moodie
Team Will: Gevanni Hutton, Lucy Calcines and the public’s Lifeline winner Doug Sure
Team Meghan: Trinity-Leigh Cooper and Brooke Scullion
Team Olly: Jordan Phillips and Blessing Chitapa
They will all be singing in the Semi-Final, hoping to make the final four. At the Semi-Final the Coaches will each select one of their acts to go through to the Final. The show’s winner will then be decided by the virtual audience, watching the grand final from home. That lucky singer will be set on the road to realizing their artistic ambitions as they scoop a prize of a recording contract with Universal’s label UMOD.
The Voice UK is an ITV Studios production of a Talpa format.
