ITV and BBC announce Euros 2024 coverage schedule

ITV and the BBC have revealed their coverage plans for the 2024 UEFA European Championship, following Saturday’s draw for the tournament.

UK television coverage of the tournament will kick-off on ITV [and STV in Scotland] on 14 June with exclusive live coverage of the opening match between hosts Germany and Scotland in Munich.  ITV will show England’s final Group game against Slovenia and will have picks one, two and three of the Round of 16 as well as first pick of the Semi-finals.

ITV will also cover the winner of Play-off A, which could be Wales, against Austria, in Group D on 21 June.

ITV will show what is likely to be one of the most anticipated early tournament games - the Group B match between Spain, who are among the favourites, and Italy, the holders.  ITV’s Group stage coverage includes games featuring many pundits’ favourites, France [against Austria on 17 June] as well as other heavy-hitters in Portugal [v Turkey on 22 June], Croatia [v Spain on 15 June] and Belgium [v Slovakia on 17 June].

Moving into the knockout rounds, ITV will have the first three picks, plus the fifth and seventh picks from the Round of 16 ties, the second and fourth Quarter-final picks and first pick of the Semi-finals.  Both ITV and the BBC will show the Final.  

All ITV games will be shown on ITV, ITVX, STV and STV Player.

“Following the draw, we can now begin to look forward to next summer’s Euros in Germany and we’re delighted to be able to bring viewers what should be a flying start to the tournament with the opening match between Scotland and the hosts. We have first picks of the Round of 16 and the Semi-finals and with England among the favourites, we hope to be able to bring viewers their biggest moments from what could be an historic tournament for them.  We’ll be announcing our comprehensive coverage plans in full in the lead-up to next June with the aim of bringing viewers the very best of Euro 2024.”

The BBC will show England’s first two group games against Serbia (16 June) and Denmark (20 June) and  Scotland’s group games against Switzerland (19 June) and Hungary  (23 June).

The BBC also have first choice of the Quarter-finals and will also show live games featuring some of the biggest teams in Europe including Italy, World Cup runners-up France versus the Netherlands (21 June), Spain, Belgium and Portugal plus two group games featuring the hosts Germany.

Should Wales qualify from the playoffs, the BBC will also broadcast their group games against France and the Netherlands.

ITV’s Euro 2024 coverage adds to a portfolio of first-class Sport events, which also includes Six Nations rugby, England Men football international qualifiers, Nations League and friendly matches, England Women football matches, the FA Cup, EFL highlights including the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One, Sky Bet League Two, Carabao Cup and the EFL Trophy, La Liga, the Tour de France, the NFL, the Investec Champions Cup, Gallagher Premiership Rugby and, in motorsport, Extreme E, British Touring Car Championships and MotoGP, SailGP, plus major competitions in snooker and darts.
