Joan

Two months later, Joan (Sophie Turner) aims to provide a stable home for Kelly (Mia Millichamp-Long) by outdoing her foster parents financially. She joins Boisie (Frank Dillane) in stealing a Stubbs painting, but the plan goes awry when the owner's ex-husband unexpectedly appears. Angry about how Boisie handles it, Joan storms out with cash. She struggles to sell her diamonds to a fence, King (Tomi May), and social services' impending visit forces Joan to reconcile with Boisie. He lets her in, and a new level of trust forms between them.

To secure cash for her life with Kelly, Joan proposes a heist to steal a ring, involving Albie (Gershwyn Eustache Jnr), as her accomplice. Boisie's jealousy adds tension, but they succeed and Joan sells the ring to King. During a dinner party, Boisie makes a grand proposal that cause the celebrations to become even more raucous. The next day a hungover Joan is visited by social worker, Mrs May (Dorothy Atkinson). The foster parents have plans to put Kelly’s stay on a more permanent footing, enraging Joan.
