Plymouth Argyle stadium redevelopment gets the go ahead

Plymouth City Council have approved plans for the redevelopment of the old Grandstand at Home Park - with a retail and leisure complex.

Argyle Chairman James Brent has been seeking permission to start construction on the project since he took over the club back in 2011.

Proposals included a number of controversial developments including a cinema and an ice rink positioned close to the ground.

The club want to start construction in the spring of next year - with completion earmarked for the following year.

It would take the capacity of Home Park to over 20,000.
