18-year-old man arrested over fatal Shepton Mallet collision

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man from Gloucestershire after a pedestrian died in a collision on the A37 in Shepton Mallet on Sunday.

Avon and Somerset Police say the man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Officers had been trying to locate two vehicles following the incident.

A 28-year-old man from Dorset was killed in the collision, which happened shortly after he left the Westfest event at the Bath and West Showground.
