Mayor Marvin Rees aims to replace 'ugly' Cumberland Basin

The Mayor of Bristol has said in his State of the City address, that he wants to get rid of the Cumberland Basin, which he called "ugly".

Mayor Marvin Rees wants to instead replace what is one of Bristol's largest road junctions with a new waterside residential area.

He also mentioned he would like to re-develop the land on both sides of the river.
