HMS Ocean set for caribbean following Hurricane Irma

The Ministry of Defence has announced that HMS Ocean will be sent to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

The Plymouth-based warship is currently on her final deployment.

She will accompany a military task force to the Caribbean to support devastated communities.

Winds of 185 miles per hour has already destroyed areas in teh islands of Barbuda and St Martin. It is now heading for the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.
