Marcus Trescothick has signed a contract extension with Somerset Cricket until the end of the 2018 season. The 41-year-old batsman has spent 25 seasons at the club.

He has scored more First Class centuries and more List A runs than any player in Somerset’s history.

Trescothick's career to date has provided a number of impressive statistics:

  • 25 seasons with Somerset
  • 25269 first class runs in his career to date
  • 76 tests for England

The former international batsman says he is still looking ahead to more success with Somerset.

My hunger, desire and passion to play is as strong as it was when I started. The club itself, along with the members and supporters have stuck by me through thick and thin and it’s an honour to step out in to the middle and represent them.
