A major search is underway for a man who is thought to have gone missing while spear fishing off the Dorset coastline.

Andrew Scott, 27, is from Winterborne Whitechurch and left home between 3pm and 4pm Monday July 10.

Dorset Police was called at 8.55pm after a bag containing his belongings was located at White Nothe and his car was found parked at Ringstead Bay, five miles east of Weymouth.

Officers are concerned that Andrew may have come to harm in the water and searches have been carried out overnight, led by HM Coastguard. The search has resumed this morning.

Andrew was possibly wearing a full black North Coast wetsuit, blue flippers and a snorkel. His bright orange dry bag containing his car keys, mobile phone and clothing were found on the coastline.
