Dangerous grenades found on Plymouth roundabout
There's traffic chaos in Plymouth tonight after the discovery of 8 phosphorus grenades.
They were located by a road worker on the central reservation at Derriford roundabout on the A386 Tavistock Road.
Diversions are in place and the bomb squad are at the scene.
Police were alerted at 2.35pm to suspected unexploded ordnance grenades on the northbound carriageway opposite Pizza Hut.
Officers said the bottles are similar to milk bottles, containing a yellow substance and are thought to be phosphorous white grenades.
Highways workers have been evacuated from the area while emergency services work at the scene.
