Cornwall Council slammed following landslip death

Cornwall Council has been slammed by a jury following the death of a 68-year-old woman who died when her house was hit by a landslide in Looe.

Susan Norman died when her home was destroyed by earth and rubble during the landslip in March 2013.

Following her inquest, which lasted three weeks, the jury concluded that Cornwall Council:

• Should have known the risk to life
• Did not listen to regular complaints from residents
• Did not respond to an independent report
• Failed to control surface water
