Man 'critical' after being stabbed in face and back

A man has been arrested for serious assault, after an incident at Topsham near Exeter.

A 29 year old man who'd suffered stab wounds to his face and back was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment last night and later transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

His condition is described as stable but critical.

A 60 year old man from the Exeter area was arrested on suspicion of serious assault and taken to Heavitree Road police station for questioning.
