Up to a thousand postal workers have walked out of sorting offices and post offices in Wiltshire in a dispute over alleged bullying and harassment.

The Communication Workers Union said members had gone on unofficial strike after a show of hands this morning.

The walk out is affecting the main mail centre in Swindon as well as offices in Royal Wootton Bassett, Devizes and Chippenham.

It says talks are currently underway with managers to try to resolve the crisis.

We are fully committed to resolving our colleagues' concerns in co-operation with the Communication Workers Union (CWU). We will do all we can to minimise any disruption and to deliver and collect mail as normal.
