Police involved in 'something out of a horror movie' receive Royal praise

Police involved in a "scenario resembling something out of a horror movie" have received personal praise from Royalty.

The four officers were called to a man in Kingsbridge wielding a circular disc cutter, and circular saw.

During the struggle, in May last year, two were attacked - suffering serious injuries - and doctors said one would have almost certainly have died but for the swift and efficient treatment he received from one of his colleagues.

All four officers were invited to the Royal Humane Society’s Annual Court in London where they were presented with testimonials on velum by Princess Alexandra.

The officers had gone to the home following reports of a dispute between neighbours.
