Results have been coming in throughout the day for a number of elections in the West. The biggest news may well be in the race to become Bristol Mayor. The votes will be counted tomorrow but the current mayor George Ferguson appears to be conceding defeat to Labour's Marvin Rees.
Earlier today he tweeted his thanks to his campaign team and said without big party resources they had done their best for Bristol.
A big thanks to all who helped @bristol_1st campaign. Without big party resources we've done our best for #Bristol! https://t.co/zoLYcdZlMw
He also tweeted that he may get his life back and thanked everyone who voted.
I may get my life back! Whatever happens, thanks to all who voted & lets hope #Bristol goes from strength 2 strength https://t.co/dke1cF0rjt
