Boxer Nick Blackwell has announced his retirement from boxing, tweeting “that’s me done”.

It comes after he suffered serious injuries during his British middleweight title defeat to Chris Eubank Jr late last month.

Boxer Blackwell thanks fans for support and says he is 'on the mend'

Nick Blackwell has thanked his fans for all their support and messages since he was hospitalised after his British middleweight title defeat to Chris Eubank Jr late last month.

The boxer, from Trowbridge, woke from an induced coma almost two weeks ago. He suffered a bleed on the skull following a punishing loss to Eubank Jr at Wembley Arena last month.

In a message posted on Twitter, the 25-year-old said he is on the mend and feels very lucky.
