A minicab driver has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Swindon woman who disappeared 14 years ago.

Becky Godden was last seen alive in December 2002. Her remains were found in a field in Eastleach, Gloucestershire in March 2011.

Christopher Halliwell, 52, a father of three from Swindon, is accused of murdering Becky between January 1 2003 and April 3 2008.

He appeared at Bristol Crown Court for this afternoon's hearing. He was not asked to enter a plea.

The hearing was adjourned.
