Chris Eubank Jr has praised the actions of the doctor in stopping his fight with Nick Blackwell, as he didn't believe the referee would intervene.

The Trowbridge boxer remains in an induced coma after the British Middleweight title fight, which was eventually stopped in the tenth round.

Eubank Sr, the boxer's father, was filmed telling his son to stop hitting his opponent in the head

"I’m glad the doctor stopped the fight because the referee wasn’t going to.

"I was playing. I’d won the fight, so I thought ‘let’s put on a little bit of a show because people are still watching’. I wasn’t throwing as many punches."

Both Chris Eubank Sr and Jr say they would have stopped the fight which resulted in Nick Blackwell being placed into an induced coma.

The former boxer told his son, Chris Jnr, during the fight to stop punching his opponent in the head and to move onto body shots.

Eubank Sr confirmed there would be no celebration from their side at the victory over Blackwell, as they wait on him to recovery from his injuries.

"This is in no way insensitive to the position of Nick Blackwell. No celebration by Team Eubank has happened and will not happen until Nick makes a full recovery, and I mean full recovery.”
