The winning design for a bridge which will connect the historic Tintagel Castle - legendary birthplace of King Arthur - to the mainland has been revealed.

A jury of experts chose the winning design over 136 others in a two stage international design competition.

Some critics are concerned the structure will detract from the beauty and simplicity of the ancient monument but Wyn Scutt from English Heritage told ITV News that the bridge won't make a huge visual impact.

He points out that there always was a bridge connecting the castle with the mainland in Mediaeval times - although there has been a lot of coastal erosion since then.
