Nearly £30m pumped into new Bath development
Bath & North East Somerset Council has approved it's budget for the next financial year, of which housing, roads and schools are at the forefront.
Part of the investment is the delivery of Bath Quays, an ongoing riverside project which plans to transform the centre of Bath.
The council hope the new build will create thousands of jobs for locals and generate income from commercial property.
The area around Churchill Bridge and Avon Street car park will be developed into a large pedestrianised leisure area with seating and picnic areas, a large play park, cycling and walking routes and promenades with open spaces for outdoor concerts.
Elsewhere, the Council also plans to improve school services with an injection of £6million given to modernise facilities for local school children and support parental choice.
