Mother of daughter who died from what she thought was a cold begins charity walk

The mother of a 5-year-old girl who was suffering from what seemed like a simple cold, but then died just 18 days later, is planning to walk the coastline of Britain, has begun a walk round the coast in her memory.

Elizabeth Spencer from Cheltenham died from septic shock in December after having an extreme reaction to a cold. Natalia Spencer has set off from Durdle Door in Dorset on a year-long trek.

She's hoping to raise a £100,000 to buy life-saving equipment for Bristol Children's Hospital, which cared for Elizabeth.

Natalia is calling her fundraising effort 'Elizabeth's Footprint', and she has even adopted the symbol of a rainbow to reflect the dazzling personality of her little girl.
