Police investigate "unexplained death" of man found outside pub in Clifton

Police are investigating the unexplained death of a man in the Clifton area of Bristol.

A member of the public found the body of a young man in Gordon Road, near The Richmond pub, at around 6.45 this morning.

It's thought the man may have been the victim of a hit and run.

Det Supt Carolyn Belafonte said: “We have evidence which suggests the man may have been involved in a collision and we're focussing our inquiry on locating the vehicle involved.

“I’m appealing to anyone who was in the Clifton area in the early hours of this morning, specifically the area around Gordon Road which is close to the Students’ Union building, to call us if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

“We’re still trying to inform the man’s next of kin so we’re not able to give out any more details about him at this stage.”
