Police searching for items belonging to Wiltshire murder victim, Sian O'Callaghan, have made a discovery.
Sian was murdered by minicab driver Christopher Halliwell having been abducted from a nightclub in Swindon in March 2011.
Her boots were found in Ramsbury earlier this year but her handbag, mobile phone and keys are still missing.
Following a tip off, officers have been searching a field between the villages of Bourton and Bishopstone. Today it emerged they have taken an item found in a ditch for forensic analysis.
The search has now ended for the time being.
We continue to be in close contact with Sian’s family and they have always wanted to know what happened to her belongings.
Due to new information we have been searching in this area for the remaining items that are missing and should we find them, we shall be returning them to the family as soon as possible.
