Police investigating the murder of Sian O'Callaghan in Wiltshire have made a discovery in a field near Swindon after they received information that some of her property may be in the area.
Wiltshire Police have been searching a field near Swindon for items belonging to murder victim Sian O'Callaghan.
She was abducted and murdered in 2011 after leaving a nightclub in Swindon. Her handbag and mobile phone were never found but her boots turned up in a pond near Marlborough earlier this year.
Taxi driver Christopher Halliwell is serving life for her murder.
We can confirm that officers from Wiltshire's Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) have been searching a field between the villages of Bourton and Bishopstone, about six miles east of Swindon, and just west of the border with Oxfordshire.
These searches are in relation to outstanding property belonging to murder victim Sian O'Callaghan. Officers have received information that Sian's property may be in this area.
The searches have not found any of the outstanding property at this stage.
This is not related to the investigation into the murder of Becky Godden.
Policing continue to search a pond in Wiltshire after finding women's clothing buried nearby.
