Old fireboat leaves Gloucester Docks
An old Thames fireboat which has spent eighteen months being renovated has started its journey home.
The Massey Shaw is owned by a charitable trust, which commissioned Tommy Nielson's shipyard in Gloucester Docks to completely re-fit her.
The vessel was launched in 1934 and helped put out fires during the blitz.
Today she tried out her hoses in Gloucester Docks, before being given a send off by Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue service.
The Massey Shaw will be taken to Canary Wharf in London once she has completed sea trials at Portishead.
