Controlled explosion carried out on Newquay bomb

Royal Naval bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a World War Two bomb found in a field near Newquay yesterday.

Roads were closed after a team of specialist ammunition workers found the device while they were clearing a field with South West Water staff near the St Eval kart circuit. The 50 kilogramme bomb was found at the site of a former munitions store.
