A music festival planned for Weston-super-Mare beach has been cancelled. Summer Sets on the Beach was supposed to fill the gap left after T4 on the Beach ended. It was due to take place on 31 August and was to have been screened on ITV2.
Stars like Gabrielle Aplin and Professor Green had been lined up to perform. The organisers blame poor ticket sales. They've put this message on the event website:
Done and Dusted the event organisers of Summer Sets on the Beach are extremely disappointed to announce that this year's event will now not go ahead.
A number of contributing factors have lead to the cancellation, not least being the tough economic climate resulting in poor ticket sales.
The organisers would like to thank North Somerset Council and everyone who has supported the event. It is with great difficulty and disappointment this decision has had to be made.
Ticket holders will naturally be fully refunded.
