Gloucestershire woman 'ready to die' by firing squad in Bali
A woman from Gloucestershire sentenced to death by firing squad for smuggling cocaine into Bali says she is ready to die.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, through intermediaries, Lindsay Sandiford said she would "rather have a death sentence, than a life sentence."
She told the newspaper "Sometimes I think, 'Let them get on with it.' I have had a lot of fun in my life. I’ve been to a lot of places, done a lot of things and I’ve met a lot of interesting people.
"I’ve got no regrets. I could be dying of cancer or something horrible and prolonged."
Sandiford was convicted of drug smuggling in January and lost her appeal against her death sentence at the Bali High Court earlier this month.
